A Long Shot
Posted by Bryn

This was the subject of our lunch conversation yesterday (over veggie burrito bowls at Chipotle, thank you very much): the long shot. Really ... the long shot, done in a single, unedited take that's a signifier of a filmmaker's mastery and vision. The blog Daily Film Dose has a
collection of remarkable clips
showcasing the very best long shots in filmdom. A couple of my favorite movies made the list: Boogie Nights (the opening sequence, where we meet all the main characters and Roller Girl skates off to the loo) and Goodfellas (when Henry takes Karen to the Copa and they go in through the side door). Eye candy for a Friday!
