Graphics Director
Specialized Bicycles, Morgan Hill, CA


The Graphics Director is an important ingredient in our design recipe. This individual is the “glue” that holds the department together and aids in the smooth operation and implementation of our Graphic design projects and process. This position requires the individual to have extremely strong Graphic design skills and an in-depth understanding of trends and market competition. This position requires a complete understanding of our visual and Graphic design language. This individual must posses the appropriate design tools to sufficiently implement our Design goals to be the best (Designed) cycling Brand in the world. This individual brings high energy to the group and has the ability to challenge and inspire our design group. This person is action and results driven and is willing to make the impossible possible. This person is a design leader with very thick skin!

Responsibilities:

-Lead Graphic Design group and direction.
-Meet with Creative dir. weekly and provide updated department progress report.
-Develop and manage department calendar with critical dates and deliverables.
-Attend time line meetings and provide CD with recap.
-Responsible for recruitment of new design talent.
-Organize weekly design reviews.
-Work on multiple design projects concurrently and maintain design ownership of specific categories.
-Approve and organize travel schedule.
-Frequent bike shops and related events to stay current. Build relationships with key dealers.
- Be responsible for creating a productive work environment and mentoring direct reports.
-Make design “fun” and set the bar for the rest of the company.
-Develop and manage department calendar with critical dates and deliverables.

Experience:

-Degree in design or related experience.
-Appropriate computer skills.
-Visionary.
