Lovely Serifs
Think of a slab-serif typeface, and you think of something heavy, solid, somewhat imposing and maybe of limited usefulness. No longer.
Hoefler & Frere-Jones
have a new slab-serif face, Sentinel, that really breaks the mold: it's respectable, to be sure, but also approachable and (thanks to an italic variant) flexible for setting body text. Sentinel makes for eye-catching headlines, but it also colors beautifully in blocks of copy. We're big fans.
