New Walmart Logo = Meh

No one on the HOW Forum seems to the like the new Walmart logo. Neither does anyone at Speak Up's Brand New blog.
"How boring. Can something be so bland and so nauseating at the same time? It's exactly the type of generic mark I'd expect a giant, morally challenged mega-company to use to try to soften their image."

I have another question. Doesn't the "asterisk" symbol look kinda of familiar? Like the symbol Foxfire uses when it's searching for something?

I agree on the blandness...I guess changing the blue to a more "friendly" blue, and rounding up some corners...plus slapping an icon that is a mix between a flower, a star and the sun, is good enough for the average Walmart shopper. Oh yeah! And don't forget the change from all caps to lower caps...Like Walmart can hide it's colossal, invasive, and community life-sucking nature behind the change in caps! Real smart Walmart!

To me it just looks cheap... like the majority of products they sell there. I just don't care for it... bland and uninspiring... just what I'd expect.

Is it me, or does that look a lot like WaMu? I like that the rays emerge from a core of nothing.

The "asterisk" sort of reads to me as "see the fine print below"... where you'd normally find that you're being screwed

The "ass"-sterisk looks like a sphincter
