Associate Professor
University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS
The University of Kansas is seeking a full-time faculty member to lead our growing new program, PhotoMedia, which began as a degree program spring 2008. PhotoMedia seeks to make the most of these innovative advances through traditional photography skills and techniques, enhanced digital photography skills, and contemporary media formats that can be applied to industry or artistic endeavors.
The candidate for this position must be able to develop curricular course content as the program evolves and will work closely with other faculty members in the development and implementation of curriculum to include digital media, visual literacy, photographic composition, computer imaging, motion graphics, video, and more. The candidate should have credentials in Photography and Digital Media practice and theory and be able to demonstrate research accomplishments or creative activities in one or more specific photo/media disciplines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach intermediate and advanced undergraduate PhotoMedia classes, assume a leadership role in development of curriculum and course content, participate in regular academic advising of PhotoMedia majors, and other departmental service activities, as well as contribute to the intellectual life of the university.
