Mohawk Taps Bierut
Mohawk tapped Michael Bierut to design a promo for its Superfine and Navajo brands, and the designer went to town. His Pentagram team asked luminaries including jazz musician Wynton Marsalis and motorcycle guru Willie Davidson, chef Bobby Flay and author/host Kurt Anderson to choose their "personal bests." They went to great lengths to secure and photograph the items lauded by these notables: Anderson's pick, the legendary Muhammad Ali Esquire magazine cover, was a rarity they couldn't track down. Fortunately, Bierut knows the photographer who shot the iconic image, and boom! Done.
