Inspired By Music

To celebrate their 200th anniversary, Warner/Chappell Music commissioned 10  graphic designers to transform iconic lyrics into posters, including Led Zeppelin’s ‘Stairway to Heaven’, Radiohead’s ‘Karma Police’, New Order’s ‘True Faith’ and Morrissey’s ‘There is a Light That Never Goes Out’. The posters were displayed at London’s StolenSpace Gallery and can be ordered from the gallery online. (You can read more about the influence of music on design in The Rhythm of Design.)

Lovely posters, especially the first one!
I’ve always loved working on posters, and using our favourite lyrics and transforming them into posters is a fulfilling experience in itself. I recently used lyrics from Rammstein’s track Reise Reise to make a poster, it is up on my blog. I’m in the process of making a few more posters just for fun.

    Thanks for the post!
