brilliant book design

via Readymade

Judging books by their covers was never so easy. Fwis, a graphic design group in Portland, Denver and Brooklyn, has a very simple, totally visual book cover blog. They have tons of gorgeous covers for pure eye candy or if you prefer to dig deeper, a few features on book arts.

Hot Tracks
Posted by Bryn

Apple announced today a new Complete My Album program on the iTunes music store: If you've previously purchased single tracks from an album, you can get credit for those tunes when you go to purchase the full album. (Previously, if you bought a single and then wanted to buy the album, you paid the full-album price and ended up with two versions of the single.) For the next 90 days, the program is retroactive to include any singles you may have purchased dating back to the iTunes store's debut.

California Dreamin'

Tomorrow morning I’ll be boarding a plane for the AIGA Y Conference, which means leaving (currently) gray-skied Cincinnati for that of San Diego. I got an email today with the final line-up and am looking forward to the two days packed with sessions led by names like Stefan Sagmeister and Mirko Ilic but also including creatives from Starbucks and the U.S. Postal Service. I’m looking forward to all that variety, plus getting to hang out with all the designers that will be attending the sold-out conference. If you’re heading there, too, make sure to say hi!
